Atoms Are The Building Blocks Of Matter

During the first quarter of this school year, we focused on matter and how it is the building blocks of our universe. In this quarter we learned that everything is made up of atoms, that matter is made up of atoms, and atoms are made up of protons, neutrons, and electrons. Learning about atoms and elements was something new for me, and so I learned a lot and learning it gave me a lot of knowledge about the building blocks of matter. In the beginning of the year, I didn't know much about all of what we have learned in the class, I just knew that everything was made out of matter, but what I didn't know was what it was made of and how there were different types of matter which were elements. I even learned about the two main changes that occur to an element and one of them is physical change, a change that doesn't affect the identity of the element, for example a paper cup can be crumpled but it will still remain a paper cup even though the physical appearance would be change.  The second one is chemical change, the changes that change the identity and happen on a molecular level, for example rust changes an element to a molecular level, which produces chemical change. We also made a project about physical and chemical change. LINK

Overall I have learned a lot by doing this subject, and I'm excited to expand my knowledge and to learn more about this in the upcoming days.
